FIR closed by GRP

(Querist) 16 December 2017 This query is : Resolved
Hello Experts,
I have been very old member of this lawyers club and this is first time I am asking a query. Probably this is the day I did enroll myself in this portal so linking for genuine advise.

Case - on 7th Nov 2016 I was travelling with my family from Hyderabad to Satna in AC3 tier coach. My wife was holding my 1.6 year baby but we were worried about personal belongings still been awake for 20 hours my wife took a power nap at around 5am (just before an hour we were about to reach to destination ) and someone stolen her handbag (it was on window side). It had gold , cash , my wallet , mobile all casting around 2 lakh.

She released this before train stop anywhere (between jabalpur and katni) , I complaints to GRP and did a quick search at possible locations . we found coach attended was sleeping and no one was there to see who enters the coach.

I Lodge an FIR with jabalpur GRP , I followed up with then by vising jabalpur (I m based in Hyderabad though) , I saw some entries in their register saying they caught someone and introgation going on but after an year they closed the case saying not able to find anything.

This is clear fault of railway and they should give compensation.

What can I do to get the compensation?

I am ready go to any extent to get justice. Its not just about me but a fight against useless system. Thank god my kid us safe. No wonder GRP would still be clueless if there could have been a murder , kidnapping or rape.

It is an ordinary measure that the police would close the investigation if the culprit could not be apprehended in spite of all their efforts. It is a moot point whether the Railways could be held liable for the theft.
