Conversion of non-agricultural plot into agricultural plot

I am having 500.37 meter. Non-agricultural plot allotted to me by muda (Mangalore urban development authority, Karnataka state). Now if I want to convert half of this non-agricultural plot into agricultural plot, is it possible? I am asking because my family does not have any agricultural land and without holding any agricultural land, I cannot purchase any agricultural land as I am not a farmer.
Please guide me.

NA plot s command a premium over agricultural plots . dont make mistake of trying to convert it into agricultural . see terms and conditions of allotment made by MUDA regarding use of NA plot

Conversion from NA to Agricultural land will take away lot of rights as agricultural land is having lot of restrictions on sale, transfer etc., But nobody can prevent you from doing agriculture with your own money. But loan for agriculture will need such a conversion. Hope you can decide the best way as enough has been given by experts on the disadvantages of conversion.
