what is Time limit for filing civil defamation suit in India

I want to file civil defamation case on IT company hyderabad who terminated me saying kidnaper murderer written in termination letter on dec-2016

I filed complaint to labour commissioner on 2019-Feb where in commissioner gave direction on June-2019 to approach Labour court  under section(47) of Shops and establishment act as its case of termination /dismissal.

Question:

1]  Can I file civil defamation suit against IT company hyderabad today taking termination date(dec-2016) and labour commissioner order in to consideration.

2 ]  Is  order from Labour commissioner is start of limitation of termination date.

 

3]What is time limit for civil defamation case?is it 1 or 3 years

You want to file criminal defamation case u/s 499 of IPC or civil (torts) compensation case ?

You can file civil case.A tort is a civil wrong which means that whenever a person commits an unlawful act under this law, the nature of the case filed in the courts is of civil nature. In civil cases, the person usually files the case himself so that he can claim compensation from the person who has caused loss to him by his unlawful act.

Facts are rather strange. Please post complete facts. Has the employer followed the due process while terminating your service?
