Section : Short title and extent

1. Short title and extent.-(1) This Act may be called theProvincial Insolvency Act, 1920. (2) It extends to 3*[the whole of India except 4*[the territorieswhich, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised inPart B States] and] the Scheduled Districts.
