THE SECURITIES CONTRACTS (REGULATION) ACT, 1956 ACT NO. 42 OF 1956AN ACT TO PREVENT UNDESIRABLE TRANSACTIONS IN SECURITIES BY RE GULATINGTHE BUSINES [4th September, 1956.] BE it enacted by Parliament in the Seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1.Short title, extent and commencement. (1) This Act may be called the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date' as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
