Section : Short title, extent and commencement.

1. Short title, extent and commencement.-(1) This Act may becalled the 2*** Registration Act, 1908. 3*[(2) It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammuand Kashmir: Provided that the State Government may exclude any districts ortracks of country from its operation.] (3) It shall come into force on the first day of January, 1909.
