Section : Putting person in fear of death or of grievous hurt, in order tocommit extortion.

387. Putting person in fear of death or of grievous hurt, inorder to commit extortion.--Whoever in order to the committing ofextortion, puts or attempts to put any person in fear of death or ofgrievous hurt to that person or to any other, shall be punished withimprisonment of either description for a term which may extend toseven years, and shall also be liable to fine.
