Section : Provision as to Legislative Assemblies.

13. Provision as to Legislative Assemblies. (1) The number of seats as on the appointed day in the Legislative Assemblies of the States of Haryana and Punjab and the Union territory of Himachal Pradesh shall be fifty-four, eighty-seven and fifty-six respectively. (2) In the Second Schedule to the Representation of the People Act, 1950 (43 of 1950)-- (a) after entry 4, the following entry shall be inserted, namely:-- "4A. Haryana . . . 54"; (b) in entry 11, for the figures "154", the figures "87" shall be substituted; and (c) in entry 16, for the figures "40", the figures "54" shall be substituted.
