Section : Issue of certificates to Indian Christians.

23. Issue of certificates to Indian Christians.-When any1*[Indian] Christian about to be married takes a notice of marriage toa Minister of Religion, or applies for a certificate from suchMinister under section 17, such Minister shall, before---------------------------------------------------------------------1. O. 1950, for " Native".---------------------------------------------------------------------<106issuing the certificate, ascertain whether such 1*[Indian] Christianis cognizant of the purport and effect of the said notice orcertificate, as the case may be, and, if not, shall translate or causeto be translated the notice or certificate to such 1*[Indian]Christian into some language which he understands.
