Clearing the air on the issue of Ottavio Quattrochi’s name being taken off from its wanted list, the CBI today said the decision was taken on basis of the country’s highest judicial advice.

CBI spokesman Harh Bal said the issue will be heard in the Court of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on April 30 and the country’s premier investigative agency will give its report on the issue on that day only.

He said the case has been going on in various courts of the country since 1999.

Earlier, there were reports that the 12-year-old Interpol Red Corner Notice (RCN) had been taken off from the "Interpol Notices" section of the agency’s website.

An English daily had also printed a piece of the paper on which Attorney General of India, Milon K Banerji had ordered the action in this regard.

Last year in September, the CBI had requested the court to allow it to take back some of the files related to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), which were deposited there in connection with the case against Quattrochi.
