Kumari Selja Assumes Charge as Union Minister for Social Jusice & Empowerment

Kumari Selja, Union Minister for Social Jusice & Empowerment took charge of the Ministry of SJ&E here today. She was welcomed by Shri Anil Goswami, Secretary, SJE, Ms. Stuti Kacker, Secretary, Department of Disability Affairs and Senior Officers on her arrival.

Speaking to the press, she said she would strengthen the Ministry and carry the schemes forward. She further added that the Department of Disability Affairs is a very good initiative. This section has been recognized and given due importance by the Government.

Kumari Selja was born in Chandigarh. She studied at the Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi and has a M. Phil from Punjab University. She represents the Ambala constituency. She was previously Union Cabinet Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Culture.
