The Indian Law Institute has launched an innovative LL.M. – 1 Year degree Programme, with a better curriculum and innovative approach for research excellence, from the ensuing Academic Year 2013-2014. The institute has invited applications for admission to LL.M. – 1 Year Programme as also for the LL.M. – 2 year and other Diploma Programmes. Admission to LL.M. Programmes shall be based on the merit to be decided on the basis of an All India Admission Test. The Chief Justice of India is the ex-officio President of the Institute which is largely funded by the Ministry of Law and Justice. The Institute has also been declared as a Deemed University in the year 2004. Since then it launched its LL.M. and Ph.D. programmes.

 

The Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, has evolved as a premier center of legal education in the country. Founded in 1956 with the objective of promoting legal research, the Institute has pursued excellence in doctrinal and empirical research in every branch of law. Judges, lawyers, and academics have been involved with a view to developing an integrated approach to legal studies. The objectives of the Institute are to cultivate the science of law, to promote advanced studies and research in law so as to meet the social, economic and other needs of the Indian people, to promote systematization of law, to encourage and conduct investigations in legal and allied fields, to improve legal education, to impart instructions in law, and to publish studies, books, periodicals, etc.
