Sri Bandaru Dattatraya, Minister Of State (Independent Charge) For Labour & Employment, To Represent India in 104th Session Of International Labour Conference In Geneva from 10th to 12th June, 2015


The 104th Session of International Labour Conference is being held in Geneva from 1st to 13th June, 2015. It is an annual affair in which Labour Ministers from various countries participate to deliberate on various issues like the welfare of the workers, implementation of the Conventions and the recommendations of the ILO, the decent and productive employment creation in various enterprises, the transition from informal to formal economy etc. In a way, the ILO concentrates on labour welfare, labour protection and transforming of the world of work to create a better working environment to workers all over the world. 

Sri Bandaru Dattatraya, Minister for Labour & Employment, will represent Govt of India in this 104th Session of ILC, 2015 on the 10th, 11th and 12th June, 2015 to deliberate on labour related issues. 

Sri Bandaru Dattatraya, is leaving for Geneva on 9th June, 2015. On 10th June, 2015 he will be participating in the BRICS (developing countries group) Meeting of various Heads of Delegations. On the same day, he will be participating in Asia Pacific Group Ministerial meeting in which he will be speaking about various initiatives taken by the Government of India for providing better employment opportunities and social security to people, Government’s commitment to unorganized workers and also on the implementation of labour standards towards strengthening the workers’ rights. Sri Bandaru Dattatraya will be taking part in the dinner hosted by the Director General of ILO, Shri Guy Rider, later on that day. 

On 12th June, 2015 the L&E Minister will be taking part in the Plenary Session where he will be addressing the august gathering consisting of leaders, trade unions and employers’ organizations of various countries. The Minister will be highlighting the various initiatives of the Indian Government like Make in India, Skill India, Digital India and Smart City Project, initiatives for increasing job opportunities, increased focus on unorganized sector, amendment in Child Labour Act to comply with ILO Convention C-138 and C-182, the universal social security coverage which has been embarked on by the present Government, the Jan Dhan Yojana Programme, and the goals to achieve inclusive growth and sustainable development of the nation.
