SC allows desealing of commercial premises in Capital

Supreme Court allows desealing of commercial premises in unauthorised colonies in the national capital in accordance with the 30th Jan notification of the Centre, but with a condition that the owners have to give an undertaking that they will abide with the final order. In cases where the premises are to be desealed, the owners will have to give an undertaking before the desealing process begins, the court said. The Bench said a public notice should be issued for the purpose of implementation of the order, the format of which would be worked out in consultation with amicus curiae. The court said the responses of the Centre, MCD, DDA and NDMC will have to be filed by the end of April in view of the changed circumstances. If any other interested party wanted to filed an affidavit, it has to be filed by 14th May, the court said and posted the hearing on the main matter for July seven onwards.
