greetings, I was involved with an accident 5 y
ears ago and case started there then, now after repeated requests the complainant is asking for 4 Lakhs as compensation to take back his complaint. it is mere blackmailing and the complainant was not that hurt as well and got discharged within couple of hours ( got stitches on head). I was the one who took him to hospital..as I am working in pvt organisation it looks like any conviction in this case would deter my career..looking for advise.
If you are having a valid license and third party insurance, ask him to file a case. Facing a case is more convenient than getting black mailed and protects you from harassment. If he is a black mailer it is not possible for him to fool the court and insurance company with all such documents, as genuine victims fail to get adequate compensation from Court/Insurance company.
