Tenant rights

Hi,

I am residing in a Co-op Hsg society, and the rules and regulations are completely against the tenants.

We are not allowed to keep dustbins, shoe-rack, flower pots etc outside. Now they have passed a rule in the AGM that the tenants will not be allowed to keep their Cars in the society premises, also the tenants are charged exhorbitantly towards parking charges. Where the owners have to pay Rs 10/- pm for first vehicle, Rs 30/- for second vehicle and Rs 60/- for the third vehicle whereas the tenants are allowed only one vehicle and at the rate of Rs 50/-.

I have always been prompt in paying the rent and the bills of the rented premises and my landlord has never had a problem with me.

Staying as a tenant in this society is like a curse as we are looked upon as downtrodden.

Request anyone to please help me and guide me in this situation as I want to know if there are any rights for tenants and is there any local body which safeguards their interest.

I have attached a copy of the notice that I have received.

Regards,

Emmanuel.
