Succession certificate

I have lost my close relative now to transfer his property,movables and bank balances do we require succession certificate? if not what papers are required? Relative has wife and 2 kids one minor and one major. Please advise

For bank balance, they are required to file an application for succession certificate u/s 372, Indian Succession Act, for which death certificate of deceased, succession certificate issued by concerned District Magistrate, Original bank pass book and adhar cards of all legal heirs of deceased are required.
