Society clueless

How does a nominee become an owner of a flat?

The society may invite claims over the transfer of flat from other legal heirs, or even demand succession certificate. When the society has determined that the nominee is the rightful legal heir and owner, the society will transfer the shares/interest of the flat in the name of the nominee and make him/her the member of the society.

Kndly confirm the above.

In my case, the society has already made me a member after due procedures, and even after that society is demanding succession certificate. Is this correct? When a nominee becomes a member, the ownership issue is settled then, right?

thanks

1.  Transfer of Share Certificate, based on Nomination Form, only means Transfer of Membership  AND NOT "TRANSFER OF TITLE-OWNERSHIP"

2.  A nominee is not allowed to sell the property or to re-nominate anybody.
