Signed before me (notary document)

if document has stamp "signed before me", can someone tell me legal meaning of that stamp.

Usually the Jurat part of any Notary are the following, in this form:

Subscribed and sworn to before me by the deponent who is personally known to me/ through the papers produced before me . I have read out the contents of this affidavit to the deponents and I am satisfied that the deponent understood the contents of this affidavit and I put my hand on this affidavit this 5th day of October 2014 at 11.00 a.m. at ______________ and Enter in Notary Register in serial No.10991

 

         Pan card/Driving License/ Identity card etc: produced before me issued by the _________________________________________.

 

I certify under PENALTY OF PERJURY under the laws of the Land, that the foregoing paragraph is true and correct.
