Kindly advise on the following issues.
For the purpose of payment PF and ESI contribution to the concerned authority , Acknowledgment date on challan or actual date of credit to the govt. Tressuary (i.e. date of relasation of cheque) will be considered for the purpose of statutory payments.

If the Company deposits the Contribution by cheque, the date of presentation of the cheque in the bank designated by the Concern Authority for this purpose shall be deemed to be the date on which the Contribution has been paid subject to realization of that cheque.

I beg to differ a bit, the date on which the cheque was presented to the P F & ESI authority will be deemed to be the date of payment
