What is the prescribed fees under section 41 of the Motor vehicle Act, for purchased of Maruti Car 800: 2003 model. The car was purchased in August First week 2010 by 1 lac, and on going for registration before the District Transport authority, the department is demanding 5% as fees from the original prize of the Vehicle that is Rs.2. lac 30 thousand and not as Rs.1 lac of the actual prize paid in 2010. it is also learned that the fees is going to be hiked from 5% to 25% very soon, Is it valid? Can someone let me know the prescribed fees in this regards. Thanking you all in advance.
