I had purchased a property in 1989. It is registered and duty paid. Now I need Index 2. Now I am told that Stamp duty is not paid although the Builder had collected an amount of Rs. 16000.for it. The property value was 3.5 lakhs only.
l am wondering now that how it was registered without paying Stamp duty.
However In case the the duty is to be paid now what could the amount.
the stamp duty in 1989 was one percent for first Rs.250000 and 4 percent thereafter.
