I am a confirmed assistant manager working in a public sector bank completing 3.5 years of service. i have developed a medical condition called fibromyalgia which requires a long rest and treatment without stress and computer work for which i need to be on leave for 8-9 months. I have a leave balance of 3 months only. can I go on leave without pay for remaining 6 months on producing a medical certificate or is it to the bank's discretion. Also can I be appearing in upsc exam during or within a few months of this medical leave since we have to inform our employer and get an NOC on selection. Can the bank object to this ? If yes what are the repurcussions.
