Both the questions of Shri KVK Satyanarayana and the suggestion of Shri Deepak Joshi are against the principles of lawyersclubindia.

Wives want restitution to just harass their husbands again.   Harassing is admired badly by women and husbands are the most easy victims.

Men who can't bear with the harassment of wives are driven away and maintenance is expected from them though the wives can support themselves.

If the husbands status and income is much more than the wife the can claim maintenance as a Protection under Domestic Violence Act. Here wife has a right to live to the standards of husband and his family.

If wife proves  that she cannot maintain herself in her income then certainly the husband has to maintian her..If wife is willing to restitute then she must resist the divotce and prove that the allegations are wrong and baseless...

Ex-facie, the wife is not enttiled for maintainence unless she was forced to leave the matrimonial home and her income is inufficient for a decent living. As regards to divorce. any suggestion would be hasty in the absence information s to how the relationship has soured.
