Land sold of adivasi

A piece of land has been purchased by someone, and the buyer's name has been registered on 7/12.

Now it has come to the notice of the buyer, that the land belongs to Adivasi (tribes) of that locality, and that such land cannot be bought or sold.

Now how does one get rid of this land without facing litigation.
