Inheritance of property

My Grandmother got widowed and remarried to X.

Then Mr. X also died.

After some years my grandmother also died as widow of X. Before her death she has provided to the Local Municipal Authority ( Property Deptt) a family photograph of the immediate family and declared that my father to be the sole inheriter of the property. The photograph was of my fathers family ( my father, my mother, my brother and myself).

Then my father also died.

Query: How to present the case to the Municipal Authorities so that the rights to the property gets assigned to my mother or to myself or to my brother.

If the facts are not clear then please let me know, I shall make another attempt.

At the outset you find out records of properties on whose name they were when your grandmother died .Thereafter give details to muncipal authorities of your grandmother legal heirs . Than you give details of your father legal heirs , there is a lengthy process you have to see whether there are any other legal heirs of your grand mother apart from your father .
