Importance of witness

I had made a rent agreement and it was notorized , both the tenant and landlord signed the rent agreement but the same was not signed by witnesses and the same has been left blank. Since the witness signature are not there hence I have a doubt that whether this is a valid contract and enforceable in court ?

Kindly quote the relevant section and act with this reference.

Pls reply asap

Thanks in advance

Indian Contract Act 1872 is generally applicable to all contracts

But sir i wished to know that  in which act it is specifically stated that a 11months rent agreement should be signed by the witness for its validity.
