IMPORT - EXPORT

Resp Members,

If Govt has issued Import Export License (IE No) and which has been used for importing the plumbing material, walls etc from various countries. Now, required to import Electrical goods from UK and Switzland. My query is whether, electrical goods can be imported with the help of existing IE No, by paying relevant Duty amount OR a fresh license alongwith IE no is required.

Dear Mr. Mahesh,

You can not import any other goods other than you are licensed for. You need to revise your existing license by applying for amendment in the existing license. Once, the application for modification is granted and the same is effected in your existing license. you can import other type of goods (duly licensed for) under the same IE Code.
