I am a resident of Bangalore and own a flat in a gated community/society. I will be hosting a party in the banquet hall of my society. Some of the residents said we need a permit to serve alcohol in the banquet. Do I need a permit from the Excise dept. to serve alcohol to the guests? NOTE: This would just amount to 2 or 3 bottles.

In Bangalore it is required to apply to the Deputy Commissioner (Excise) of the local area with requisite fees for obtaining Occasional License. Prior permission/NoC from the Jurisdictional Police/Revenue Authorities is necessary for procuring Occasional License.
