This is the problem of almost 30 members in our Institution. All of us having the same problem.
We joined in a govt. university as lecturers on contratual basis for 3 years.
After 3 years completed, our contract was renewed for one year and then again for one more year automatically and thus served our organisation for 5 years continuosly with out any break. For the next two renewals, administration did not ask us to collect renewal orders also.
But this time, our administation behavior is different. They didn't renew our contract from the very next day of 5 years completion. They renewed for one more year but with a gap of few days (But salary is payed for these few days also) from 5 years completion and forcing us to collect the renewal order also unlike last two times by holding the salary. What would be the reason behind it?
So, What we heard and thought is ..... if any one serves a govt. organisation continously for 5 years then that candidate should be obsorbed as permanent employee of that govt. organisation. Is it correct?
We served the institute for 5 years continuously and this is 6th year. But we entered into 6th year with a gap of few days in service. We had to accept/recieve the renewal order also for the sake of salary. So our service is broken now (what we feel !!).
So, do we have any right to go legally on our problem ? Is our service treated as Continous service? Can we fight for permanent position in our university or at least a kind of job security !!
Please suggest !!
