What happens if Respondent also comes for ex parte evidence

A woman A has applied for divorce. A man B has received notice and filed vakalath. Thereafter B has not filed any counter. After few months judge calls respondent absent and sets for ex parte evidence. What will happen if B who has not filed any counters so far arrives in court for ex parte. Will the case be contested again.or will the judge hear the case ex parte and pass appropriate orders. Kindly please enlighten me. Thanks in advance.
