Sir,
We are based in Kolkata and my mother had a few shares in her name in physical form and a piece of agricultural land inherited by her from her parents. This land is in a district of West Bengal. She died on 22nd July 2015 and she had not made any will. We are two brothers and we will like to know the procedure for transferring these shares and the agricultural land in our names.
Sir, do we need to obtain any succession certificate from the competent court to effect the transfer of shares and the agricultural land?
