One of my clients purchased a flat in housing board society building in Jan 09 in Jaipur. Now the building is maintained by a society formed by residents of building. The society has issued a notice to my client for depositing Rs 21000 against new membership fees after 8 months of purchase of flat. Society did not inform this to my client earlier nor the person who sold the flat. The agreement also does not have any information related to this. My question is, does my client have to pay new membership fees? If he do not pay new membership fees to society, then what legal action society can take against my client.
