Hello All,
My Father is willing to execute Settlement Deed ( self-property & inherited property ) to his Wife and sons (3 shares) . Is this valid for registration and income tax . Because i goto know from few ppl that Husband cannot do settlement deed to Wife . pls advise . '

No , family settlement deed is from Father to Wife and 2 sons . meaning property hold by father is likely to be split between his dependents. Can wife be part is settlement deed.

Hi,
The wife can surely be a party to this settlement.
The self-acquired property shall be distributed only as per father's will and consequential settlement deed and the rest inherited property can be given to her if the sons agree.
The sons should be major and of sound minds, capable enough to give their consent to such settlement and release of the share.
