Remanded case back to trial court

District court has remanded case back to trial court to dispose the case afresh. Actually what happens there? Previous cross examination become void? Or only additional evidences are taken along with given evidences?

In the appeal, District court has remanded the case back to trial court to dispose the case afresh. Actually what happens in lower trial court now? Will Previous cross examination become void? Or only additional evidences are taken along with given evidences? Let me know in case additional details are required

Maybe the lower court had not followed the right procedure, hence it has been advised to conduct the trial afresh, which means everything related to the trial and that includes the chief and cross examinations too.
