I'm planig to purchase a site from a person who was allotted the site from co-op society. The society has provided the possession certificate almost 7years back. But since then owner has not gone for registration/khata. Can i buy the site directly now and register in my name directly and then go for khata? Or should i ask the owner to first do registration and then get the khata. Later i can purchase the site. But this will take lot of time and money. If we can directly register the site to my name what will be the cost? And if the owner has to do all the legal formalities how much money ha has to shell out? Please let me know on these ASAP.
