Personal exemption: summon for crl proceedings

Hi,

The accused has been summoned at trial court for complaint case US 500. However the accussed is unable to appear on the said date.

Is there a provision where exemption (temporary or permanent) can be granted to accused.

Besides Physical Distance & Health are there other grounds?

Can the same request be made on behalf of the counsel as the accussed is unable to travel?

urgent response please..

The counsel may plead for exemption from appearance on behalf of the accused upon showing legitimate and satisfactory reasons which include ill health, any personal but unavoidable circumstance etc. Courts normally do grant exemption in such cases.

Move an application under s.205/317 crpc with cogent reasons for personal exemption. In most cases it is granted.
