I am from Andhra Pradesh. My aunty wrote a will that her properties belong to me and my brother after her death. She died recently. I got her death certificate and I came to know that Legal heir certificate is must. She used to stay at some other place and died there. We stay in our home town. Now the issue is when I went to the MRO office in our home town they said that the certificate will be issued where she died. When I went to the place where she died and enquired in MRO office, they told me that legal heir should be taken from the place where the respective heirs stay. I got confused on this. What is legal heir ?and why is it required even if she wrote in the will clearly that the property is ours.
