Ipc 279/338 impact on uk visa

My father had an alleged accident case 3 years back. The case is settled through insurance for Rs 50,000 but he was chargesheeted under IPC279/338. it has been three years and the court is still not given a date. He needs to travel to UK to meet my sister who lives there. He has been to UK and US many times before. What are the chances of his UK visa being rejected due to this pending trial in court. Any experience in this would be much appreciated.

Well, while applying for the visa, he will be asked on the form whether he's ever been arrested/charged with an offence for which he's awaiting trial. I'd recommend that he fills all the details correctly and truthfully; there are far more chances of the visa being denied or cancelled if he isn't honest about it in the form and the authorities find out about his pending case based on the chargesheet.

Since he's visited UK and US several times before, I assume he won't face much problem for obtaining a visa for short-term stay.
