I bought bike on 4 September 2013, the bike was registered on 4 th October.2013
In between i met an accident on 22 September 2013. The insurance company says that claim is invalid as I didn't have the RC at the time of the accident.
But on cover note it clearly says that insurance validity is between 4 september 2013 to 3 september 2013.
The total cost of bike repair is 23000 approx
what should i do?

you are right. The vehicle may be having a regn No at the time of delivery and issue of RC is a clerical formality. You became the owner and they became insurers from that point of time.
Further while now RC is being issued in form of computerised smart card the RTO Authroities allow you were as per the practice and law bring vehicle on road.
You can move to IRDA or consumer forum as suggested by your lawyer.
