Export of Flowers

The Government has been coordinating with export promotion agencies such as Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and Export Inspection Council (EIC) by providing necessary technical inputs and financial assistance. APEDA through its schemes for Infrastructure Development Scheme for Quality Development, Scheme for Market Development and the Scheme for Research & Development has been making efforts to expand flower exports. As a result of these measures; the exports of flowers have increased from Rs.4875 lakhs during 2007-08 to Rs.6563 lakhs during 2008-09 (up to Feb, 09). 

            The details of export of flowers during the last three years are as under:
