Engagement called

Hello, I was to be engaged on 5th of August. But the guy's side called off the alliance 4 days before everything was done. We had booked the hotel by paying more than half in advance. When we went to speak with them for refund, they have clearly denied it. Kindly advise if there is any way to get the refund back. It is my dad's retirement money. Thank you.

Forget money. Their true colours came out before it was too late. Be happy that ur saved. Sometimes deals don't happen, well that's business, can't complain. Ma'am, can try convincing them but in reality u guys spent for urself, engagement called off, what they spent, they did, so did u.

Since engagement was called of much before 4 days, you could have ask for refund the hotel, as per their cancellation procedures they will refund money.

Hi Priyanka, 

 

There was a recent Supreme Court Order regarding the same issue in which the boy side were asked to refund the money and a case of cheating was also registered in that case.

Hello Kapil, Thank you so much for your advice. The guys are not ready to refund the money as it has costed them also. The hotel is denying refund. If you could advise on this it would be great.

You can sue him for recovery of      MONEY FOR booking the Hotel  for engagement ceremony            and other miscelllaneous expenses in c onnection with calling off marriage engagement mercilessly and teach him a befittimng lesson. Thi sgeneration women should be  more progressive and not old fashioned to  sit in a corner and cry inself pity.
