Sir, What is the time limitation to file criminal case for SMS threaths / abuse. I could not find much about these in 66A section of IT Act. Any other section to be referred let me know. Thanking you.

There is no limitation for SMS threats. Only thing to remember is that you must retain the original copy of the text/messages as received on the handset.

There is no time limit for proving the content of the SMS texts.

However, the nature and content of the text in the SMS will be decided on a case by case basis, depending on the severity of the crime that was committed. If you are not sure, pl file an FIR with the cyber cell to avoid problems in the future.
