Bank loan

hi

i am new to this forum i have an issue

i had taken a loan of 1,00,000 from a reputed bank in the year 1990 . the loan was once restructured. but still i had problems in pying emi due to financial problems

in 2001 the loan was setteled after paying rs. 73000 this was all done verbally for this no letter was issued nor before settelment nor after the settelment.

after the settelment they kept me sending the reminders for the emi to be paid they said it will take some time for us to stop those letters as it is being done through other department until the books are closed the letters will keep comming do not worry.

this continued till 2005 and i asked for the reason of not stopping those letters as these letters were troubling me and my guarantors with increasing amont of penalties. suuddenly the letters stopped

and till date they have not demanded any money through letters or phone calls.

but till date they have not returned my documents sayin the amoun was not setteled it was forfieted so we cannot return your documents this till date has been going on verbally and no letter has been issued by them.

it has been 7 years since the last letter of demand what should i do

i stay in the same house and my building is ready for the redevelopement

please advice
