I met an accident in Jan 2006 and put my claim in District & Session Court Gurgaon (Haryana) but i am permanant resident of Distt. Rewari of Haryana. Now court awarded a compensation of Rs. 4 Lakh Aprox. but my advocate says that I need to open an account in a nationalised bank which is in Gurgaon Only. When i contacted to banks they asked for local address. So please can any body help on this issue how is it sorted out.

If your lawyer has said there must be some purpose. But I don't think it should be a mandatory rule to open an account. Please seek alternative guidance.

you can take cheque and submit in nationalised bank which is near area of 10 km from your resident which is rewari of haryana.
your advocate is wrong about opening an account in gurgaon.
