amendment in birth certificate

Once a NAME mention in birth certificate(kept under Birth,Death & Marriage Regigitration Act)be amended ? If yes,What's the Procedure?

1. Paper advertise under Change of Name and keep several sets of whole of adv. appeared Newspaper for all future usage.

2. As an when the person attains majority age keep applying for various documents such as Ration Card, Passport, Driving License, EPIC Card, Arms License, Matriculation Certificate etc. etc. and the changed name appearing in these are valid proofs to carry forward with.

3. In my opinion there is no provision to change the Original Birth Certificate once issued from MC registry at belated stage.

you could change the name in the register in the early years (before school admission) by a joint application by both the parents.

Need to change in gazette and no amendment can be made in Birth Certificate.

You need to produce copy of Gazette publication along with the certificates wherever needed to use new name

Keep the copy of gazette publication with those documents.

1st: Declare the change of name before Magistrate/Notary.
2nd;- Get such declaration notified in at least one newspaper of good circulation in your area.
