How can we known that any act or code is in force or it has repealed or not.

Also meaning of the grtitutious act & non - grtitutious act. This is the 15 time i am righting this query pls it is a request to the learned members answer me pls.

1. We can know if an Act is in force or repealed only by way of latest law books or journals reporting statutes. This is quite possible for an updated law library or regular reading of Gazette of India/State Gazette which notifies this feature.
2. Gratuitous act: Doing something (such as giving advice) for free without charging. Non-gratuitous is its opposite.
3. Another dictionary meaning of Gratuitous act: If you describe something as gratuitous, you mean that it is unnecessary, and often harmful or upsetting.
(example) There's too much crime and gratuitous violence on TV.
