No legal paperwork but has document in his handwriting

I invested 10 lakhs or so 2 years ago in Marble and Stone business with this man who I thought I trusted. The business has taken off - he will not put my name on the business as we first discussed. I said Fine, at least give me back my 10 laks i invested. Can I do something - or Do I say bye bye to my money. I have a written document in his handwriting that explaints details about the business. Frustated Mother
