Share of women in ancestral property

(Querist) 16 July 2012 This query is : Resolved
My client got married in 1980s, in the year 1985, her mother and brother partitioned the ancestral properties left by her father who died intestate. Till date the mother(wife of deceased) and the brother(son of deceased) enjoyed the properties partitioned between them. Now they tried to sell the property and they don't have the intention to pay even a single pie to my client and to other sisters. (Totally 3 sisters 1 son and a widow), Now whether my client has any legal remedy to ask a share in the property left by her deceased father? It is ancestral property of her father and her mother and brother got partitioned equally all the properties. Need urgent reply and thanks in advance.

No, the answer lies in your question the property has been partitioned in 1985, the daughters cannot claim share.
