Whose name to use.father's or husband's?

According to Indian law is it compulsory for a married girl to use husband's name or she can still use father's name in legal documents?

It is not compulsory under Law but it is a custom. If one wishes to follow the custom, she has to get the surname changed in all the records by enclosing wedding card/marriage registration form for change of surname to the each concerned authorities.

It is not compulsory, you can keep using your father's name.

There is no law in India, which say that a married girl have to use husband's name. It is only just custom to use husband's name. However, some people use both name. you can use name your father name.

Not compulsary to change your name or surname after marriage.

You can continue using your maiden name.
